What does the application process look like to work with Trades Resource?
When you apply with Trades Resource, here is the process below.
- You can either submit your resume for an initial review or you can submit your initial application here to sign up
- Once you complete your initial application, a representative will reach out to you within 24 hours
- You will then be given a proficiency assessment exam based on your skill set
- Once you complete the proficiency assessment, there will be an interview process to gather your capabilities and experience
- Once you a selected for a job position, you will complete the rest of the hiring paperwork to get fully onboarded
- You will begin your journey with Trades Resource!
What does Trades Resource cover when traveling?
- Travel Mileage to/from your home location to the worksite location
- Daily per diem
- Daily lodging covered
- Hourly + guaranteed OT hours
*All are determined by site location and job position
How long are the contracts?
Depends on the position and location. We can work out contract length commitments during the interview process.

FOR MANUFACTURERS:
What does Trades Resource bring that other recruiting agencies don't?
We specialize in skilled CNC machinists, welders and additional technical roles. Our network includes professionals with 10–20+ years of experience, ready to deploy in 1–2 weeks. What costs are involved when we first start working with you?
We handle and cover all administrative and employment-related expenses, including:
- Pre-employment screening
- Payroll and direct deposit
- Insurance and workers’ comp
- Compliance and onboarding paperwork
- Project Management of all deployed Contractors
We’ll collaborate with you to understand your needs and budget, then provide a clear, upfront estimate with no hidden fees - built around your unique project scope and timelines.
What happens if the person you place doesn’t work out?
We stand behind every placement. If there’s a mismatch - whether technical or cultural - we work quickly to replace the candidate with someone who’s a better fit. Our goal is to ensure your team gets the support it needs, without delays.
How do you ensure a cultural fit with our team?
Before placement, we dig deep into both skill, proficiency testing and personality fit. We ask about team dynamics, pace, communication styles, and your ideal work culture. Our candidates are seasoned professionals who know how to adapt - but we also do everything we can to ensure a good match from the start.
Can I start with one person before committing to more?
Yes. Many of our clients start with a single machinist to fill an urgent need, then expand based on success. We're here to support your team’s growth - at your pace.
How long are your typical placements?
We specialize in monthly contract roles starting at 3 months (minimum). Flexibility is built into our model.
What types of machines and skills do your machinists work with?
Our bench includes Machinists skilled in CNC Mills, Lathes, Swiss, 5-axis, mill-turn, and more. If you need a specific setup experience, we’ll find the right person who’s done it before.
Where do you find your Machinists?
Our team has a nationwide talent pool, built over years of industry experience. We attract proven professionals who are open to contract work and are looking for high-impact assignments where their skills are valued.
What states do you operate in?
We place technicians nationwide. Our machinists are accustomed to traveling across the U.S. and are fully prepared for short-term or long-term assignment - wherever your facility is located.
How quickly can you deploy talent?
In most cases, our experienced technicians can be on-site within 1–2 weeks. We maintain a pipeline of vetted, travel-ready talent to meet urgent production needs with minimal lead time.
